How are dimensions calculated?
Supported lines, arcs, circles, ellipses, polylines and NURBS splines are evaluated in their real coordinate system and converted to millimetres.
Upload a DXF for coordinates, layers and contours, or a STEP/STP model for 3D preview and approximate X/Y/Z bounds.
For ASCII DXF files, Fabensan reads the drawing unit, calculates dimensions, identifies layers, closed parts and cut-outs, and creates a thickness-aware 3D preview. STEP and STP models can be viewed in 3D with approximate X/Y/Z bounds. Your original file remains unchanged.

The filled area is the sheet metal part that remains after cutting; white inner contours are holes and cut-outs.
The 3D preview shows the model and its approximate bounding box along the file's X, Y and Z axes. These are not final production dimensions.
It is a reliable preliminary check. Manufacturing suitability, tolerances and tool paths are confirmed by Fabensan before production.
